How to Make a Beautiful Canvas Painting (with no experience required!)
You will not believe how easy it is to make these paintings!
These make great gifts and my children love helping with them!
Canvas size of your choice (All of these pictured are 16×20)
Paint and foam brushes (I like to use at least 3 colors and I use the cheap $.67 bottles of acrylic paint)
Stickers or templates (I use my Silhouette Cameo to cut my letters. LOVE this machine!)
Favorite quote or scripture
Let’s get started!
Step One: You will need to cut your letters out of contact paper. I use contact paper to cut my stencils because its cheap and I usually a roll of it laying around the house! Its also sticky so it stays put on the canvas! OR get your stickers ready!
Place it on your canvas…..
Allow it to dry for a few moments.
Then, add in some highlights with other colors. I like to keep it simple at 3 total colors. You can get wild if you want to though!
What do you think? Do you have someone in mind that you could make one of these paintings for?
Here are a couple of other ones we have made:
You can see these do not need to be perfect! It’s even more special when the kiddos can get involved, even if it means a glop of paint here or a smudge there!
I hope this is something you will try!
